Let me just start out by saying that I went to see Motorhead in Montreal 2 months ago and there wasnt as much audience stupidity (those 3 jerks) from the 2000 drunken metalheads in attendance. Anyway, I think thats been covered already. After the 'incident' the boys tried to go back to that rocking magic they had in the first half of the show but they seemed a little stressed. I think Patrick was the most frustrated when he messed up a bit in the beginning of altered states and then singing harmony on ready for you... but thats okay cause i think he's the most concerned about sounding good live. He made up for it on a wicked performance of the song reach out!! While the others were probably trying to forget about the show in the tourbus Chris came out to mingle with the fans after the show, then some idiot (jerk #1) started swearing at him... he kinda looked like a deer caught in the headlights... but he'll be okay. Although it was a bit of a tough night for sloan they were really entertaining and my friends and I had a great time. As an avid concert goer I can say without a doubt that they are better than 99% (1% margin of error) of the rest of the bands out there. Keep it up guys!!
Oh yeah, Joel Plaskett was in fine form too.
WOW! Chris Murphy is an amazing vocalist! How can a man who's losing his voice (as Chris was that night) pull through songs like "Everything you've done wrong" (where Chris has to imitate horns!) or the over-the-top harmonies of dozens of other Sloan songs without a crackle?!?! Though I had a hard time hearing him speak, and was concerned that he might not be able to complete the set, Chris pulled through admirably - from start to finish.
These guys were on top of their act. This was one hell of a riff-rockin' good time. I would like to thank Sloan, Joel Plaskett Emergency, AND all the people who DIDN'T need to be dorks and push people around in order to have a good time!
Mmmmm! I'm was disapointed of the gig. I was saying to everybody "Sloan is the best band live". I was happy after the show to have only two person that i have to explain that, normaly, a sloan show is a way lot better than what we see. I only see a few moment, flash, of what a sloan show is supposed to be. I'm pretty sure i will not rememberd those moment, sadly.
For the last time in Québec city? too bad for us... to have a show like this... :(
howdy guys! u guys rock, i was never really into u guys until i went to a show in antigonish,ns. and i loved what u guys were playing, now i cant stop dl ur tunes. agian u guys rock.

Great show! This was my first Sloan rock-your-ass-off experience. Although I didn't have any expectations about the band's performance ('cos their studio sound is so tight), I did keep hearing whispers, before the set, about how they usually put on a kick-ass show... So that triggered something in my brain.. and that led to thought/question... "hmm.. will the rock the place?" Well.. .. ..
.. YES they definately did rock the place! I had never seen such a powerful performance. Their choice of songs was excellent, breaking the ice with a few songs from the new album, Action Pact, and continued on with other great treats like The Good in Everyone (one of my favorites), Money City Maniacs and many others. All I can say is that I enjoyed and appreciated every second of that show. I will definately be at the next one. SLOAN!! YOU REALLY KNOW HOW TO ROCK THE WALLS (and they're pretty solid) @ Club Soda. Let's hope you play that venue a hundred-&-1 more times!
Thanks very much for a great show last night. I had a blast. The opening act "The Joel Plaskett Emergency" was great. I really enjoyed them.
Look forward to seeing you guys again.
Thanks for the "notice" on the stage left balcony!
Again, really great show! Cheers!
Paul
What a great rock show! I was so impressed with their live performance, way better than the cd!
I loved how they played quite a bit from AP, as well as the classics AND Chester the Molester!
Chris and Jay were very friendly (I'm sure the others are too, but didn't get to meet them). Thanks Jay for chatting with us for a while. I'd chat about people from Chester (not being molesters though) any day! We had some good times with our conversation about everything. And I was very happy about their decision to boot the rowdy guys out, GOOD CALL!
Good luck with Wayne and Cuff The Duke out west. PLease be nice, read them bed time stories and get them into the bars.
(Just to let you know, I love CTD, it's just jokes we had, not to worry, we weren't laughing AT them)
Just got back from the show and as usual the boys did a great job. The 'light show' setup on stage was impresive with all the flashing and such. The evening started out nice with THE JOEL PLASKETT EMERGENCY opening up. However this was not a typical Sloan concert that I have grown used to seeing... there were several guys that did not seem to know that at a Sloan concert you do not mosh and push everyone around, let alone crowd surf as one guy unsuccessfully attempted. After several warnings from Chris and Patrick to stop, they did not subside. Coax Me marked the end of the concert for these two losers.. Chris had been coaxed into telling security to remove them from the venue - yaayy! After some applause from the crowd the show continued without a hitch. Okay.... what about the music? Well what do you think, its Sloan do they ever let us down ?! The tunes centered mostly around Action Pact (not like that is a bad thing or something) while slipping in a few oldies here and there, "People of the Sky", "The Good in Everyone" and "The Lines You Amend" just to name a few. Well what else can I say... oh... my pics - all 3 rolls will be posted as soon as I get them developed, hope you like them.

ok...SLOAN RAWKS!!! OMG they were AMAZING!!!! The show was awesome and there was so much energy in their set! Joel Plaskett was kick ass as welll....he was hawt!!! Not as hot as the boys in Sloan but still wicked. It was my first rock concert (im 15) and im proud to say that it was a sloan concert!!!! I got to meet Jay and i have to say that he was VERY nice and I really respect him for that. I would like to have met the other guys in the band (especially Chris....*giggle* lol) but whatev there will always be the next show (and there DEFIENETELY will be a next show)!!!! SLOAN ROCKS!!!!!!
Another great show, indeed. When the band showed up on stage, I was a bit worried as to what kind of performance they would give, since Chris had problems with his voice, and the band didn't seem too happy to be there (probably because of the small crowd). But after a couple of songs, they seemed to be enjoying themselves (and so were we!) and proved once again that they can rock. It's a bit sad that they had to stop playing in the middle of the encore (because of the venue curfew i guess) but still I was very happy to hear different songs than the ones they played the last time they were here, in August. I can't get enough of Sloan... ;)
