Review of Show in Barrie, Ontario by C-Dubbs

Just wanted to thank Patrick, Andrew, Chris and Jay for rockin out at Edgefest 2003 on Saturday. Truely I came to see Sloan and The Hip since I haven't seen the Hip play in quite a long time. Sloan's energetic and fun set was certainly deserving of being on just prior to the Hip because quite honestly, the sets by Stereophonics, OLP and Finger 11 (my god what freak scheduled Finger 11 to play later in the show than Sloan???) were mediocre at best. I loved the CFNY interview with Chris and Jay prior to the show, guess who stole the airtime? My only wish was that there was to be at least a track or two from Twice Removed and Smeared, but nevermind, the new album rocks and we heard plenty of the singles as well. Thanks for the autograph session and thanks for an amazing set in an otherwise subpar Edgefest show.

Cheers Guys!

Sloan at Edgefest, they fucking rocked! Sloan really got the crowd rocking, it was amazing. Altough since they didnt play during the night they didnt get a light show the way OLP did, but "If it feels good do it" really made up for it. All in all, Sloan rules!

Wow, what can I say really. The show was awesome....so many great acts but Sloan was worth the ticket price alone. Great sound, the band was tight and the crowd was great! Makes we want to drive down east for more!! The 40 minute set was just not enough...;(
And nice ass shots for the crowd, Chris!
Ciao!

Review of Show in Cleveland OH by robyn

Drove up from Pittsburgh (and blew off school and my own mother's birthday!) to see Sloan for the first time and was not disappointed! The crowd was energetic, the band was loose and having a blast. The set list was fantastic, hitting the best songs from each album...I have it written down somewhere...I think they did a Sabbath cover (???). There was a large Detroit contingent there, I remember. Great venue, too...smallish bar with good beer! Stood on a bench with a German teacher from Cleveland (wie geht's?) and had a perfect view. Andrew was under the weather but soldiered on for the good of the show. Noted Patrick's Lemmy microphone setup. Chris was sweatin' his glasses off. Jay seemed reserved. I yelled so much I ended up getting laryngitis, which pleased my students to no end. It was worth skippin' school for! Thanks, guys!

Review of Show in Pontiac, Michigan by Rick

At last, I got to see and meet Sloan. Five years since I first heard them on the good 'ol radio and I have to say they are every bit as good as I thought they'd be. Got there late but the band had not yet started so that was good (for me). Am glad they played lots of new songs for the crowd that night as well as a few more older numbers (opening with underwhelmed). I also took them up on their offer to stop and chat after the show. Mr. Murphy was very friendly and had lots of stories to keep the mood lite. Mr. Pentland had lots to say as well and I'd like to say thank you for giving me so much of your time and I look forward to speaking with you again. As for Jay and Andrew, I'm sorry I didn't get to speak with either of you but thanks for the autographs. In case the band may read this I am the guy that has the KISS tattoo on my left arm (how can you forget that?). I will be at the next michigan show, you guys are great live and I can't wait to see a full show.

I drove 7 hours to see this show on my day off and 7
hours back and worked the next morning. I ate in
the restuarant next door next to my idols! Im a musician
and this was the best show i have ever seen! Been
a fan since smeared was was released. I first heard
"Underwhelmed" on a free cd from stoly in a magazine.
I have been a fan every since. I have the set list from
this show... Amazing version of "feels good do it" and
Andrew was in rare form.

Review of Show in Vancouver BC by Jason Elliott

I'd like to say that this was one of my favorite Sloan shows. I had seen them only a few months earlier down in San Fran, which I will say was....different.

Just for the record, I was the shirtless guy who ran onto stage, and it wasn't a note, but my business card. I don't remember actually hitting anyone when I came off the stage, but alcohol can blind you sometimes. Sorry to whoever that was.

As to why I did it? No reason in particular. It gives me a story to tell and an event that others will remember as well. That combined with alcohol and friends can be a little much. I decided after that night that I was going to limit my drinking at concerts, since my antics had continued to be more over the top. I didn't want to be "that naked guy"

It was all in good fun, which at a Sloan concert is a hard thing not to have. They are truely one of the best bands ever to come out of Canada, and indeed, the world.

Review of Show in Winnipeg by ken pangman

I've seen the sloan boys 6 times live and this "back to school tour" show was by far the best, the most fun moments being the sing-a-longs during "i am the cancer" and "chester the molester".

Review of Show in Pontiac, Michigan by mike!

Review of Show in Toronto, ON by Alison

Wow. This show was amazing, and imagine my surprise when, two weeks after buying tickets to see my (then) second favourite band, The Strokes, I found out that my (permanently) favourite band was opening for them. Like the person before me, it was my first concert and it couldn't have been more perfect. The energy that Sloan emits during live shows is amazing and I couldn't believe that no one would stand with me! (not that i could see everyone...*cough*) Anyhow, after seeing Andrew, Chris, Jay and Patrick (diplomatically alphabetical) on stage, it almost seemed pointless to stay and watch The Stokes (but I did). Sensory Deprivation had to be the most amazing thing since I don't know when, as were the others, even if Patrick's mic kept cutting out...*tear* Anyway, I'll definately be seeing much more of Sloan, hereafter known as the most talented band since Rush... :)
P.S: There aren't any pictures because my film didn't role onto the barrel of my camera. Sorry? You better believe I am. To think I blinded Jay for no reason...
