If you took some shots, you can send them to us and we'll add them to the site.
I have to say that I felt really let down by last night's performance. I had recommended the show to a friend and felt bad for doing so.
I am very supportive of a band playing songs off of their new album; however this was a little much.
People were literally asleep at the back of the Kool Haus.
At the end of the show Sloan played a bunch of their hits at once. This would have been better received if they had dispersed them through the entire evening rather than at the end - as many people had already left at that point.
A very disappointing evening!
sincerely
Also, why did they let the drummer sing so many songs? Was it his birthday or something?
The songs with the opening band at the end of the show were great.
I think Sloan should have asked Rain Maida to open the concert with his new spoken word album.
I read that Rain is doing that now. Doesn't anybody else find that hilarious?
I forgot how good the sound quality is at the Kool Haus...(though I think they crank it up a few decibles too high - spelling?)...I hadn't been their since Sloan's 2003 show!!!!
You guys were awesome as always, and I loved hearing the new album live with the mixture of some older classics. My sister suggested that you guys should keep Greg MacDonald perminently - we're pretty long time fans and we thought the live key board, maracas, tambourine, etc. really added the finishing touch. (Plus, he's GOOD!!!!)
Not much more I can say without being cliche - the show ROCKED, and both the crowd and the band seemed to be having an amazing time. That was my 6th Sloan show, and I was definitely pleased with the performance. Good times were had by all!!!
But hey...what was up with those special wristbands to see you guys afetr the show? I've met Chris twice, and Jay and Patrick once face to face without a hassle!!! Are you guys too good for us now? (I'm just kidding....I understand that was a big show in a larger venue, but we always like to say "hi" to you guys and thank you for what you do. **Thank you**).
Keep on rockin'
Lisa*
P.S. - If people don't want to hear the new stuff, too f**king bad because it is AWESOME!!!!
also, I dunno if anyone's interested, but I have photos/videos up on my livejournal,

great job guys! keep up the fantastic work!
For those who wanted to hear more old songs, I felt the opposite I was so anxious to hear the new songs.
What really stood out to me was how strong (I thought he was lip-singing) Chris' voice was on the new songs(old ones too)...
Fading Into Obscurity, Set In Motion, Someone That I Can Be True With, You Know What It's About, were great live! I used find him obnoxious, but he is my fav now, hehe. Although "Last Time In Love" is a real cheese ball song, but i guess it is supposed to be.
Patrick songs brought out the energy in the crowd as usually. Jay I think played the least amount of songs which was disappointing, his a little hard to hear for me.
I think Andrew songs on the new album are very well written, but the were defiantly ruff sounding live... maybe they are complex to play and sing or maybe because the other three sounded so good. Also Andrew was the only one not to play an old song, I personally think he should have played at least one.
The didn't play any rarities, unless you consider Penpals as one. The harmonies sounded great except for a few times, but that is because Sloan are known for their harmonies. I can't remember which song, but Chris and Patrick sang different lyrics (in harmony), which was amusing.
Thank you so much for a fantastic show.
Sincere thanks,
Mandi
BTW, I thought Andrews' sets kicked ass. These guys each bring something to the table, which would otherwise be missed. That's what I dig about this band.
haha I thought it was funny actually - my vocal ensemble was following our conductor one year and she accidentally got the versions of John Lennon's "Imagine" mixed up...you know, every remembrance day....my music teachers are huge Beatles fans, so they didn't mean to!!
Just goes to show you that musicians are only human and mistakes do happen. I understand, guys*
