Sloan

So I never thought I'd be the one to say this but I came away from this show less than impressed, and I know that it has everything to do with the fact that I am just not that into the new album. I have been a huge Sloan fan ever since '92 at the age of 11 when I heard my very first Sloan song and I would never have thought that they could do something that I wouldn't love although it appears that the impossible has happened. Out of the 30 songs on the album only 2 stick out to me (6 & 18) and what bothers me most about it is that all the songs that start out strong are all the short mintue and a half ones so the song is over just when its getting good. As far as the show goes, it was great to hear some of the classics and to see the amazing energy and enthusiasm the band displays, but in my opinion they've done better. For example, when they played the Kool Haus in Nov. 2003, now that was a great show. ~CP
