Impressive showcasing of the new album. Nice segues. It was great to see Andrew giving it his all up at Jay's mic with the Mosrite. Then he gave it all back on the kit.
Patrick, Chris, Jay, & Andrew (and Greg) > thanks for a great show. You rock as individual songwriters and performers and you rock together as a great band.

It was exciting to hear so many new sloan songs that I don't know yet, but I also wanted to be able to sing along more, but it was still an awesome show as usual.
Thanks guys
Lot's of fun banter as always at a Sloan gig. I was standing right by security up front to the side and was amused at the onstage antics.
I felt bad for the guy that came up behind me for the last few songs as he kept yelling 500 Up....not on the set list, maybe next time.
Anyways, I came home with one of Jay's picks and no hearing in my left ear....ahhhh, good times.

Openers were surprisingly good too.
Note to self: buy new album, learn all the words for next time ;)
Hope you boys are back soon...
The Yoko Casionos were a great opening band playing at home in Vancouver. And as for my first Sloan show, completely satisfied. Sure, I’d have liked to have heard a few more of the classics, but I can’t complain. I like the new CD so well that I was happy to hear so many songs off of it. And I purchased my first new LP, as in vinyl, in about 20 years, with the double album NHTEOI.
But what really made the concert special for me happened when it was over. I’ve read the other reviews that the band members, usually Chris and Jay come out to see the crowd. After meeting Mike Nelson, Sloan’s manager, I walked over to Chris and said, “Hi Chris. I’m Lee, and I drove 900 miles from California to see you.” Chris was stunned. He responded, “From California? No way! Thanks for coming! How did you ever learn about us?” We chatted a little bit, and when I told him that I completed my collection that day by purchasing “Peppermint” at a local store, he said, “You don’t really need that one.” I got him to sign the LP, and because they were trying to clear out the club, I went over to Jay, said hello, got him to sign the LP, and he was as surprised and gracious as Chris was.
As my wife and I turned to leave, reflecting on a show worth the drive and the expense, Chris walked back over to me, extended his hand, shook my hand and said, “Thanks so much for coming. Drive home safely now.” Wow. Just simply wow. With that bit of kindness, you’ve got a fan for life, Chris.
If I had one thing to do different on my four day trip to Vancouver, would have been to be on the ferry to Vancouver Island the next morning so I could have seen them again at Legends in Victoria. Seeing them once is just not enough!
Thank you again, guys. We had a blast, and will look forward to seeing you when you come down to California this spring.
And P.S. – We had a great little vacation in Vancouver! It was nice to get reacquainted with a city I hadn’t seen much of since my college days.
