When Chris walked up to me so casually after the show at the stage front I just cooly stuck out my hand for a shake. "What was your name again?" he asked (even though we'd never met :)
"Hey, guess what I got?" I asked, pulling out the birthday present from my wife.
Both he a Jay signed NEVER HEAR THE END OF IT for me. Nice little treat. Almost as nice as the hug that the YOKO CASIONOS' Misty Reid gave me at their CD table. (They'll be back on Nov. 16?)
SLOAN played well over a dozen songs from the new CD so I was glad I'd studied the material. The catchy ones run in my head often. The cure for that is to just play the CD again.
Sloan is so good at tutoring the audience on how to sing along with their hits. My happiest moment was singing, "...I know that I'll be living it in CANADA~!"
Haven't seen them here in Victoria since May two years ago. This time I was at the front of the crowd taking photos with my old Minolta. Crowd got a little pushy sometimes. Some great shots of both bands, though. How do I post them?
Try playing UVIC or something next time. Legends' basement can feel so cramped.
