Hey guys, viewed the show last night at the Ale House in Kingston, i was a little concerned that the plane on the roof was going to be rocked off the ceiling.
Loved the classics but guys the new stuff, a little dry, i guess its going to take some time to get used to the new stuff but much like you said yourself on stage, "I hope i can remember how this new stuff goes"

Hey guys, I was at the show last night in Kingston at the Ale House, i was slightly concerned that you were going to rock that plane off the ceiling.
Loved the classics, the new stuff was like swallowing a rack of ribs, tasty when it gets down but painful swallowing it! I forgot my visine, darn!
I love the older stuff, I guess the newer stuff is going to take a while....you guys are one if not the best bar bands in Canada if not the World, you just have to get past the Strokes for supremecy.

Awesome show guys... i was so excited to hear you were coming back to K-Town, it had been a while. Last time we waited in line to be front row, this time we waited in line to be front row on the balcony where we could relax and take in the whole Sloan experience. The whole concert rocked beginning to end! Love the new songs, just wished i had more time to listen to the cd before the show. But it was nice to listen to songs i didnt know the words to. Good 1st effort on 'Last time in love', probably one of my favorite new songs. loved the encore, great way to end the show with money city. Thanks for rockin the house and i look forward to the next visit to Kingston!
I have seen Sloan before and they really ROCK (9.5/10)! Having said this, I was disappointed by this show (6/10). I realize that when a band puts out a new album, they need to really showcase it...but they over did it! They played very few of their AWESOME past tunes. Of course, when one of these came on everyone went crazy. The new stuff sounds good, but the really should have played less of it until people have had more chance to hear it on the album.

Last night was my third time seeing Sloan live. I was the guy in the wheelchair parked at the left edge of the stage. I had a great view for a great show. The new material was just as good as the old stuff. What a night! Thanks for showing a Kingston gimp a good time, Sloan
This show was amazing! Although it was mostly a student crowd on a Wednesday night, Sloan still pushed through the (at times exceptionally lame) crowd's lack of energy to deliver a rock solid performance of a lot of their new material. Of course, they delivered their classics, which seemed to click with the audience. As a musician myself, and a Sloan fan I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the show, and it was good to see them with smiles on their faces and enjoying playing for those of us who screamed until we lost our voices. SLOOOAAAN!
A fantastic show, as always! I was glad to hear so many of the new songs, they sounded great. It was so good to see you guys again, Kim and Kristen and I had a really good time. I'll be posting a few of our pictures in the near future... see you again soon!
Sloan made their way back into K-town on Wednesday night to play at The Ale House. They are touring for the support of their new album “Never Hear The End Of It” that just dropped into stores on Tuesday. When Sloan played last year at Stages I thought that was going to be my one and only chance to see Sloan play in Kingston. This is one of a few and far between times that I was glad to be wrong.
The opening band for the night was Yoko Casionos. I never heard of the band before, but by the time they were not evern half way done their set they already made an impression on the crowd. They were playing songs off of their soon to be released debut album. The band is made up of four members Misty, Juice, Kieron and Chad. “Cameras On” was my favourite song that Yoko Casionos played. Every song that Yoko Casionos played caught the crowds’ attention and received a loud applause and the end of each track. All of the songs that they played during their set were songs that are off their debut record. The songs that they played in no particular order:

Their was the usual hour wait before Yoko Casionos gear was removed and Sloan’s equipment was put on to the stage. Their seemed to be a problem with the one mic but it was figured out within a few minutes. Sideshow from K-Rock 105.7 introduced Sloan when they came onto the stage.
Sloan set list for the night was still a work in progress because they are starting to incorporate their new tracks from the new album (Never Hear The End Of It) that just came out in stores on Tuesday. They are trying to see from the crowd which songs work and which songs don’t work. One song from the new album that I wanted to hear was the first single “Who Taught You To Live Like That”. That was the really the only song that I wanted to hear off of the new album. Like most people I was there to hear their previous songs from their previous work. There was about four songs that I had to hear and I thought in the end I wasn’t going to get to hear a couple of them, but I lucked out and when they came back onto the stage for an encore performance they played “The Rest Of My Life” and “Good In Everyone”. Another thing that I don’t see many bands do is having members switch instruments, Chris Murphy and Andrew Scott switched it up twice. Chris put away his bass and played the drums and Andrew came out and played guitar and Jay took up the bass. When Andrew played lead the songs were faster and heavier and the usual tone that Sloan plays. What also impressed me about the Sloan’s performance was the fact that they played about 29 songs. They stuck to their set list for the most part and they added songs onto the list instead of taking songs off. The sound throughout the night was really good too, there wasn’t any feedback, and the music wasn’t too loud so you couldn’t understand what the band was singing into the microphones. The place was pretty well a sell out. The stage floor was jammed packed full of people. From watching past bands play at the Ale House I have learned to start standing when I first get into the door because at about 10:00 the floor was pretty well packed full of people.
After the show the bar was pretty well empty which ended up being a good thing for the autograph seeker like myself. Jay Ferguson was the first member of Sloan to come back out to meet the fans. By the time he came out there was only about 10 people waiting which is good because you have time to ask a couple of questions. After I got my copy of the new album signed by Jay I asked “What were my chances of getting the rest of the band to sign the cd” Jay said “The rest of the band should be out in a couple of minutes.” Luckily about five minutes later the rest of the band came out except for Andrew Scott. All in all it was another great performance by Sloan.
