Hey Sloan,

I'm going to see this show today in Detroit. I'm from Windsor, and I can't believe I finally got tickets to one of your shows! I'm sure I'll have a blast and take some pictures, so I'll try and get some on the website soon.
Love you all.

Megan

I noticed at least four video cameras in prime spots on the balcony. Not sure what that was about, but they all had great views. I stood next to one of the filmers and he was getting great stuff.

Wow, what a fun night. I was a dummy and assumed that it wouldn't be a sold out show but guess what, it was. So I was there in the freezing cold with 3 other people and no tickets. My buddy managed to get 1 ticket at around 8:30, still, as a group we were on the outs. About 15 minutes later, my boy got another ticket. An hour past. Two of us waited in the car and my 2 dedicated chums waited ouside the tour bus and even made contact with the Murph and Patrick. Pat said he would try to get us in, but no guarantees. We out waited two dudes who had one ticket, but needed another. They finally gave up and sold us their ticket. Great, 3 down and one to go. Mike Nelson came out of the bus and was really nice but explained that one of us was probably shit out of luck. Minutes later some dude showed up and for the 100th time we asked the million dollar question: "Any extra tickets?" This dude saved our night and sold us his extra ticket. I felt like Willie freakin' Wonka. There were still other people waiting for a miracle outside in the cold and I felt bad for them, but we were in. We had enough time to pee and grab some beers, and then Sloan rocked the joint. The new stuff sounded great. Awesome crowd, I've seen Sloan close to 20 times and it might be because it was such an ordeal to finally get in, but this may have been the best Sloan show I've ever seen. Pat and Andrew were both on with their singing, Chris said he was sick, but sounded great and Jay was solid. They played a long set, we were all wowed by the performance. Next tour: DO 2 SHOWS IN DETROIT, THE FAN BASE IS THERE, WHY NOT? Like a fine wine, they get better with age.

I was "UNDERWHELMED" by the set list for the concert last night! You would have to "COAX ME" to pay to see Sloan again! Where was 500 UP? How about tracks from Action pact? Mix it up a bit guys, eh?

Either that, or maybe they should step back up to the State Theatre. I know that they played there in 2001.

Never had a problem getting tix in the past and figured that there would be plenty of tickets at the door. We didn't buy any beforehand were bummed when we showed up and it was all sold out. I guess we underestimated the Sloan fan base out there. Won't pull that one again. Can't wait to see Sloan again when they eventually come back to the area.

This was my fifth show, and it was definitely the best! I was really glad that I had already bought Never Hear the End of It, and that I knew a lot of the songs, because the set list was pretty heavy on the new stuff. Several of the new songs, like "Fading Into Obscurity" and "Living With the Masses" are instant Sloan classics, and it was great to see the band in top form.

I have to mention that we got to say Hi to the guys, especially Patrick and Chris, and they were truly friendly and just awesome. St. Andrews got pretty hot, being packed to the gills with Sloan fans, so my young guests (teenagers seeing their first Sloan show) had to get some air by the door before the show started. We were bummed because we got there early and had a great spot, and we didn't want to lose it. But as we were cooling off by the door, the guys came in from the bus and stopped to say Hi to the kids. I've been a huge Sloan fan for years, but you guys just cemented your spot as my all-time favorite band, and I think you gained a couple of new die-hard fans, as well.

Come back to Detroit soon!

Yet another great Sloan performance.

I thought everyone sounded great, despite Chris' comment about throat problems. I love the new album live and am always happy to hear the classics.

I wasn't too keen on the opening band though. There's a lot of really good local Detroit act that would have totally rocked the place, i.e. the Hard Lessons, or maybe a Canadian pop act (the Yokocasionos were great in Sarnia)?

Great show guys! Count me in next time.
