Went to the Cinespace show last night only to find out it was guest list only so I couldn't get in. What's up with that?

Sloan made their way to the stage at about 12:30AM last night/this morning and after sitting through an intolerable opening act, they lived up to their records. The performance was filled with energy-- song after song-- they played musical chairs; something I enjoy watching. As we passed a pimp and a hooker on Hollywood Blvd, my girlfriend turned to me and said, "They have the best, cleanest vocals I've ever heard live". I agreed and then we went home and felt matured and resolved in our JMP Marshall-cranked quest. Fuck, those guys are good.

Dear Sloan

Im not to sure what the turn out for your show on Jan 9th was. I think you guys should know that their were approx 150-200 Sloan fans wrapped around the building waiting to get in. We were their early enough. But as we waited, all the club-kids walked right in. Then a guy came out at 11pm and told us that only people on the guest list will be allowed in from then on out. So we left. What a f*cking disappointment!!! A bunch of people who dont even probably have a clue who Sloan is got in because they looked cool. Goddamn DJ's!!!! There was a 500 people capacity. had we gotten beat out by 500 Sloan fans I would be OK with this. But this was simply a joke!!! I hope by the time you guys got on stage that there was a jam packed house of people waiting for you. Because if there wasnt, there would of been.

This gig was a joke! People stuck outside who really want to see you? Pleae come back and play a place not so "Paris Hilton-ish" so that REAL fans can get in not to be turned away by some A--hole at the door with a clipboard. 2 HOURS outside to be told NO SLOAN. Sucks!

Well, I did get in. Got there at 9:30 or so, it was a small place. Not too many Sloan fans, but the ones who were there saw the smallest Sloan show I've ever seen (and I've been to some with 300 capacity). Guys were in good spirits considering it was kind of a farce with the club kids and raping on the dance floor set to hawt beats. Ill Placed Trust does not disappoint.

My boyfriend and I went to this show. I agree that the venue was a joke. We had no idea what we were (waiting in line for) and walking into.

We showed up extra early and we turned away because it was guest list only but I was so hopelessly confused by this info the girl with the list took pity and explained there was a film premiere (or something) that was guest list only and that Sloan'd come on later.

After waiting in line and watching the changing of the guard at the L. Ron Hubbard Scientology freakfest across the street forEVER we got in. There was still time before the band was to come on so we waited (in what turned out to be) the club part. There was free vodka or something so people were trashed and did you know that the dance floor was carpeted? Wha?

When we figured out where the band was going to play we went there and as noted by another fan, sat through an intolerable opening act.

BUT! Sloan was awesome! It was really exciting to hear the new songs and I made all sorts of high pitched squealing noises that my boyfriend doesn't judge me for. Their awesomeness couldn't be tainted by the drunk girl that gyrated against both me and my boyfriend or the super!fan who kept yelling at the band. The guys handled themselves (and the crowd) admirably.

I think this was my 8th show.
